Simplifying the Experience: 1 Minute = 1 Credit
We've heard your feedback that our previous credit math (3 minutes here, 10 minutes there) could be confusing. To make things transparent and easy to understand, we are moving to a Unified Credit Standard:
Starting today, 1 Credit = 1 Minute of high-fidelity AI transcription.
Why This is Better for You
1. No More Compromises on Quality
We believe every user deserves the best. Previously, to offer longer durations on the free tier, we used a slightly optimized AI processing model. However, we've received feedback from many users who preferred the premium accuracy and speaker detection found in our paid plans, even for shorter clips.
Since most trial files are between 3 to 10 minutes anyway, we decided to prioritize quality over quantity. By aligning our credit system, we are now able to offer our highest-fidelity AI models (powered by the latest OpenAI Whisper technology) even on our free tier. You’ll experience significantly better accuracy with punctuation, speaker detection, and technical terminology from the very first minute.
2. Faster Processing for All
By streamlining our credit model, we’ve optimized our server queues. Even as a free tier user, your files will now be processed with the same priority and speed as our hobby plans, ensuring you get your results in seconds, not minutes.
3. Total Transparency
No more guessing how many credits a 15-minute file will take. It’s now 1:1. Simple, fair, and transparent.
How it Works Now
- 10 Free Monthly Credits: You still get 10 free credits every month to explore the platform.
- YouTube (with Captions): Still just 1 credit per video, regardless of length! This remains the best way to quickly get text from YouTube.
- Local Files & AI Tasks: These will now consume 1 credit per minute, giving you 10 minutes of premium AI transcription for free every month.
